Unfortunately due to the current situation Woodwork for Women workshops will postponed until further notice. Meanwhile, I will move to video online on Facebook and Youtube. Standby. Keep safe everyone. Cheers, Patt

The Traditional Basic Furniture Making workshop is 3 full days 9am-5pm packed with hands on skills, some of which includes, individually coaching you to saw straight, measure and mark up accurately, how to confront power tools in a calm and centred manner and getting tips you will never hear anywhere else!    NEW! 2 day DIY Basic Woodwork.

I have been running the workshops for 24 years and each time is a little different as I make it the best it can be so that you can return home feeling settled and confident to know where to start, what those tools are that you need to find in the back of your shed to use, or what to buy new or second hand at your budget level.

So the workshop is jam packed (or sawdust packed full) with heaps to get you going. Oh and did I say you design, build and take home the project you have made with your own two hands.

"I teach that woodwork can be a natural part of everyday life, just like the ability to fry an egg!

"I teach that making beautiful things from wood is no big leap, nor something that requires years of practice."

"I teach that joinery making is a gentle art even though it incorporates the use of loud, sometimes intimidating Power Tools."

You get a snapshot of the woodworking industry using knowledge and information to dilute any mystery.

Woodwork for Women solves the mystery of ’secret men’s business’ often associated with woodwork.

Our courses build your confidence and unshackle your vision about what you believe is possible.

As a young, female joinery student in Bristol, UK in the early 1980s, founder Patt Gregory became acutely aware of inequities in technical education. These systemic biases inspired Patt to develop a fun, non-competitive learning environment for teaching woodwork to women.

Patt uses a holistic mind/body approach for teaching tool handling (including power tools) and the fundamentals of furniture making.
